Cuizhou

Cuizhou, formerly known as Huangzhou or Africa, is one of the five islands of Xuanwu Lake. Located in the east of Xuanwu Lake, it covers an area of 6.59 hectares. In July 1935, it was renamed Cuizhou, because of the tall bamboos, exuberant cedar, and the eyeful of green. The scenery of Cuizhou is quiet and unique. A long embankment is lying on the waves, surrounded by green plants, i.e., pines, cypresses, willows, and bamboos, constituting the characteristic "Cuizhou Trees". It is a good place to appreciate greenery. There are also many scenic spots on the island, such as the Homecoming for Students Studying in Japan, Huazi Garden, Cuizhou Boardwalk, etc.
